I have a QNAP NAS TS 209 SII running a Twonky media server (Version 6).# Needless to say, I (Volkan Ozcelik) take no responsibility, whatsoever, For example I created a twonky7 folder and edit with nano a file (I don't remember which) to make the server point to the other folder.įollowed the instructions and everything seems to work somehow, but:- Streaming start to my WDTVLIVE is very slow.- If I list the processes in Mybook there is multiple processes "twonkyserver"Is this how it should be? Unfortunately I upgraded my media server using another guide (found some weeks ago on this forum), so my directory structure is slightly different. Is there somewhere a list of all necessary files and folders to run a specific twonky version? Or to do a full new Installation?Rolf Anyone any ideas what I can do to fix it?Ĭurrently I'm in a mess as I cleaned up and obviously deleted some important files. When accessing through webinterface I can't get through (can't Access page).stopping/starting twonky indicates that mediaserver.pid can't be found.I tried to work through this threat but didn't find a solution. As far as I know, nothing has been changed firewall wise. I tried stopping and starting twonky, rebooting the NAS, reinstalling twonky, but so far, nothing. Logging in using putty and attempting to start the service, it says twonky is already running, but I still cant find it. I updated twonky on my WD Mybook ages ago and it all worked fine, but as of last wednesday, suddenly, I cant find the twonky server anymore. I then went through, and repeated the second half of the steps, making sure that I tried the killall twonky* command, but killall didn't find those two files, and they reappeared in the same error message when I started the new server again. My old version (5) ran as mediaserver iirc. I think this is due to a name change in the process from mediaserver to twonkyserver at some stage. Mediaserver.pid does not exist in the /var/run directory. To learn more, please visit In fact twonkyserver does not stop. As long as there are not more than 450-500 files within the index everything is fine and the windows media player (WMP12 on Win7 64bit) shows the external media server and the correct and complete contentĪfter adding another 100 files to the NAS the complete content in the WMP12 gets erased and the index starts to rebuild - unfortunately the data transfer from the twonky server stops after the first 200 files and the index within the WMP12 remains uncomplete - whereas the twonky server still shows the correct number of files. ![]()
